Client: Roots of Development
Working with Roots of Development, a DC-based nonprofit engaged in development in Haitian communities, we created a fall fundraiser and gala to increase awareness and revenue for the organization. Engaging a broader audience involved creating a t-shirt design competition with a nationwide call for entries and coordinating it with a contest on social media. Influenced by Roots community-based approach, we further engaged owners of boutiques and stylists in Washington, DC, to create looks using the top 10 t-shirt designs. The full gala experience included a silent auction, runway show and announcements of the winning t-shirt designs. The end result was an increase in attendance at the gala, a significant increase in social media outreach and net income from the event.
